1931-A Germany Magdeburg Commemorative 3 Mark in PCGS PR69 CAMEO

4 posts in this topic

For your viewing enjoyment, the finest known 1931-A German 3 Mark Magdeburg commemorative. Likely original mintage of only a few hundred. Without a doubt the finest in existence. Not sure why they only called it a cameo and not deep cameo as the coin is fully deep cameo.

Finest at NGC is PR68 (no cameo), PR65 Cameo, & PR67 Ultra Cameo.

Finest at PCGS is PR68 (no cameo), PR69 Cameo (this coin and only cameo example), and PR67 Deep Cameo.

If you sell it, I hope you make a bundle off of it.

For me, I like the Hamburg issues the best because of the design. But I do not own any and though some of these late 19th century and early 20th century issues might be scarce, the pricing seems rather weak. There are so many German states that I do not see how most collectors could complete much of anything unless they really specialize.
