What would you grade this. Nicely struck for an O-mint.

I'd call it a 64. There are some marks, but the strike makes up for it. Actually, I'd probably call it 64 obverse, 65 reverse, which averages to a final grade of 64.

Nice looking Morgan! Looks like it has some nice luster to it. I agree with Jason as it looks MS64.

My guess would be a strong 63 with a possible 64. Nice fields with no prominent bag marks. What's the spot on the eagles upper left wing? Is that just in the camera or on the coin? Either way, a nice strike, decent eye appeal, nice looking Morgan.

I would grade it MS-63.

I'd grade it MS-63. The marks are the cheek are pronounced in the photo.

 

The coin is well struck, but 1885-O is one of those O Mint Morgan dollars that comes well struck. It is not unusual for this issue.

 

Now if this were an 1895-O, we would be talking a whole new ballgame.

Anacs graded the coin in 1985 as MS63/65. I think the coin would probably grade 64 today.
