I recently acquired this cool piece but know nothing about it. Does anyone know about this old certification service?..this was older than both NGC and PCGS right?...Are original items like this collectible and any idea how much?

1900 Morgan graded MS64/65 by IGA in March 1985...what ever happened to IGA?

You may want to give Conder101 a PM about this cert since his book lists a date in 1986 as the earliest he had seen.

He wrote a book about or contained the history of certified coins? That sounds interesting. Do you know the name of the book?

thanks everyone..I was curious if there were people who actually collected this type of thing and what would be a fair price for myself and a collector ( do these sell at a premium?)...there are some who probably would value it more than myself and it should probably be in their collection...

There are some collectors of old slabs and photo grades.I don't know how big a community it is but they're out there. Here's a couple I bought partly for the slabs. Both of these companies used the same slab.

Nice, there is the Accugrade standards someone was asking about

A2 for full and brilliant, 66 grade, with flat luster ?

That was me asking about the code. It was explained to me that the last "C" either means cameo or commercial strike as opposed to proof strike. I'm in the "commercial" camp. As you can see in the last line of the reverse side the that reads "A2-63c=commercial grade".
