Coin census

12 posts in this topic

Hi everyone. This is my first post so please take it easy on me. I've been lurking for a while just trying to get my feet wet. I recently inherited a small coin collection and it included a slabbed 1996 Silver Eagle certified by NCG as MS70. I read in an article that this is a fairly rare coin especially at this grade, with SCGS not certifing any. Can anyone tell me how many of these have been certified as MS70 by NCG by number and also as a percentage of those they have certified?

Welcome to the forum. The NGC MS70 population is 98, out of 67,649 which appear on their Census Report for that date.

Edited to add: Oops, I see that I was late with my reply. ;)

Please confirm what you have. The results posted are for NGC coins but twice in your original post you called them NCG. There are a couple of fly-by-night grading services that go by the initials NCG. Did you make typos in the OP or are we comparing apples and oranges?

Sorry for the dyslexic typos. It is a "NGC" certified coin. BTW where are you located. I'm in Southwest Indiana?

East Central Indiana, or is it Central Eastern Indiana, I never know which way to describe it, Eighteen miles north of Leon Hendrickson and Silvertowne.
