QUESTION:

 

Which two United States coin types are tied for the longest production with only minor changes to their basic designs?

I go with Washington Quarters and Jefferson Nickels, although I believe that The quarters went one year longer without a major change than did the nickels.

Are you talking about the Lincoln cent being 100 years old and the nickel being made of the same composition since 1866 (not including the wartime silver alloy)?
