"T" Designation

NGC used the “T” designation on certain submissions of modern coins between April 2000 and August 2002. The “T” stood for toned, and was applied to a coin that was not entirely untoned or white.

 

The designation was discontinued after a review concluded that it had no effect on the marketability and trading of these coins. Owners of NGC-certified coins who wish to have a "T" designation removed may submit such coins in their holders for our Reholder service.
