Time limit on NGC certifications

I recently talked to someone who was selling a Silver Eagle that was certified by NGC. He stated it had 7 years left on its certification. When I specifically asked him about this, he suggested I contact NGC. I wasn't aware that there was a time limit on certifications from NGC ???? If so can you provide specifics ?

There is no expiration on the NGC guarantee for silver coins. Copper, bronze and copper-nickel coins graded before April 1, 2000 are not covered under the guarantee, but all other coins are covered.
