Half Dime, re-plasticized

Last summer I bought this 1855 Half Dime on eBay from a board member. I bought the coin raw but the seller stated that it had been cracked out of a PCGS MS64 holder. Sure enough, I found the coin in the Heritage archives.

Not knowing if I could get it back in an MS64 holder I bid on the coin at the MS63 level. Apparently all the other bidders weren't even as confident as I was because the coin closed at around an MS62 level.

 

Well, I sat on the coin raw for a while but finally decided to have the local dealer send it back to PCGS for me. I was expecting an MS63 grade given the talk of tight grading these days. I picked it up last week in it's new PCGS MS64 holder. Chalk up one data point for PCGS consistency. (thumbs u
