15 posts in this topic

Im bored at work zzz and assuming that there are others out there who are as well. This coin currently resides in an NGC holder. What grade would you assign to this coin?

I could see this in an NGC MS65* holder.
Did you click on the black background and view the full size image? ;)

I don't necessarily think that it deserves a 65, but I've seen 65s with the same type of ticks/scuffs in TGP holders, one of which I've posted below. Let me say that I have nothing whatsoever against the coin I have posted. I'm only using it as an MS65 example. The Star comes as the result of this type of toning, of which NGC is fairly liberal in rewarding. That is why I said that I could see the OP's coin in an NGC MS65* holder.

Congrats to Mr. Feld as he was spot on. This coin is currently in an MS63 old loaf style NGC holder and I am considering resubmitting as I feel this coin is at least worthy of a star designation...what do you guys think? worth a shot?

Not a Morgon guy here, but there is just too much going on on Liberty's cheek to be a premium quality in my untrained opinion. The reverse sure is pretty!!

Whatever value, if any, a star might add, would probably be offset by resubmission and postage fees. If it were mine, I'd leave it as is.
