It's not just an error...

Here is something I found on that famous, online auction site. Although I have not researched this, I assume it is a souvenir from Error-A-Rama, the convention of the Numismatic Error Collectors of America--one of the predecessor organizations of CONECA. The off-center strike is tapped on the reverse and the envelope is initialed and dated across the seal by someone with the NECA of San Diego County stamped over the writing. The stamp is postmarked on the opening day of the convention.

 

For the few dollars it cost, I thought it was something neat! (thumbs u
