6 posts in this topic

I did find this on an ebay auction:

US Mint's Pewter Replica Revolutionary War

Obverse: Inscribed in Latin "The American Congress to General Daniel Morgan." An Indian crowns General Morgan with a laurel wreath, in the background is a trophy of arms and flags.

Reverse: "Victory, the vindicator of liberty" are inscribed in Latin at the top. General Morgan leads his troops with colors flying and puts the British Army running. In the foreground, an Indian battles a dismounted calvary soldier. Latin inscription below: "The enemy put to flight, taken, or slain, at the Cowpens, January 17, 1781"

This was part of a set that could be purchased in a blue(?) velvet page display case. The complete set often trades from $10 through $25 on ebay.
