2008 American Eagle Silver Proof - January 3 for $31.95

Latest news from the Mint: Get your credit cards out, 'cause the Mint will be releasing the 2008 Silver Proof on January 3 (Thursday) for $31.95.

 

This is a $4 increase (14% increase) over last year's price, though silver has gone up about $1.75 (13% increase) ... so I guess that's "fair" in terms of pricing.

 

This is also being released about 4 months earlier than last year (March 27th).

I have a subscription and it shows to be mailed out around Jan.11th. That may change tho'. I didn't know there would be a price increase tho'.

We're talking about proof coins. The Mint will charge a premium for the extra work and the packaging. I want to see what they do about the uncirculated coins. Will they raise the price 14-percent or more?

I have a subscription also. I received an Email a few weeks ago that they would be processing it in about three weeks and that there would be a price increase so the plan had been in the works for a while.

I have the email also but I may have skipped over the price increase note. Oh well, I still collect'em so must pay the price.
