2 "Presents" in the Mail today!!! 54 Proof set & 2 OTT Lights Comments???

Hi all. Just received a 1954 proof set I purchased and 2 new OTT lights. This is my first try with these lights. I think (?!?!?!) I like them.

Comments and critisisms are welcome.

Set looks nice. Lites are working good, may need to just move them around a little here and there to keep them from glaring. Once you get used to them, they work great. I have 2 also and love the lite they give off.

A bit of work with the camera and you will have it all down! That half is really nice!

You should work on light position, avoid blowing your highlights, and adjust your color balance. Your images appear to have a greenish tint. Nice coins

Very nice looking set. (thumbs u What is going on in the right obverse field (roughly 3 o'clock) of the half dollar?

Skyman. I think, unfortunately, that they are "hairlines. Very hard to see when just looking at the coin in hand but become greatly magnified when you do the close-ups.

Photos are pretty good. Keep experimenting.

 

That said, the two problems I see with these photos have nothing to do with the lighting -- they are overexposed and slightly out of focus.

p.s. I think you will find OTT lights are great for viewing coins in-hand (particularly for showing accurate colors) but aren't that good for photos. They are nothing but a diffused light source, which isn't the best for photos -- where a point source typically gives better lighting on coins.

Still too much glare and you should size these down to at least 800pixels so they're not so large. Your getting there!!
