Lance,

Good seeing you at the ANA in Sacramento.

Can't blame you one Iota about keeping that

1892-S Half. Nice solid coin.

Wow, Nice Barbers, Elbesaar!

I couldn't make the Sacramento show this year; business got in the way. Was someone impersonating me again? (tsk)

Lance.

No - I know another Lance - and I guess I mixed you up

with someone else !! [ My Bad !! - lol ]

Oh, no worries. That other Lance...he doesn't owe you money, does he? If so, it definitely wasn't me. I've never even been to Sacramento! If not, if was fun chatting!

Lance.

I seriously doubt I will be posting any more images of my Barbers;

all of the coins have been professionally imaged and I have decided

to sell all of my Barbers at auction, at Heritage, at the Pre-ANA this

August 11-12th.

Its been a passion for me assembling all the sets [ some in duplicate ]

and I have enjoyed the friendship of other Barber collectors as well.

I hope this Thread doesn't fade off and become lost - as I look forward to

see other posts and other collectors' images.

Happy Hunting, everyone !!

Oh, a few collectors have asked what the numbers at the bottom

of each of my posts mean - its the number of hits this Thread has

received.

59,465 - hits;

That's alot of hits, IMHO !!

Wow, the end of an era! What's the next challenge going to be?

(Memo to self: Save money for pre-ANA sale.)

John,

I'm working on another set of Standing Liberty Quarters.

You'll be seeing them soon enough. I'd like to pick up a

couple more coins before I send them to you for imaging.

BTW, everyone, John "Messydesk" was the photographer

of all of my Quarters - and all the MS Halves.

I think he deserves a loud "Atta Boy !! "

I was browsing eBay today and saw this 1900-O Dime in PCGS 45.

Knowing exactly how difficult they are to locate in collector grades,

I snapped it up.

Lance,

The "Other Lance" is Lance Hipps - his Dad, Ed has been a fixture

on the bourse floor for years. I have picked up some great coins from

both Lance and Ed.

WOW....that is VERY high end for that grade and great toning!!!

I completely agree with you.

Many of the raw coins in my old Dansco

were holdered as XF 45 when I thought they

were closer to 53-55.

I just sold off a few of my Barber Dimes to the

JMW Collection - and that sale included my better

1900-O in PCGS 58. I never see this date - and

although I have no intention of starting another

Dime collection - I just had to buy that new 00-O .

Thanks, Walkerfan. I received the coin yesterday and its

a nice 45 - nothing more - and the obverse toning is great.

All of my Barbers are being sent to CAC - so - I'm more than

interested in seeing the results.

I'll repost once I see the results.

There was a nice looking 1905-P Quarter in NGC 64 at a

recent Heritage auction - which sold for $2,070.

Beautiful coin - but - $2K for a coin worth half that ?

very well struck example:

Can't believe its been a month since I - or anyone else for that matter - posted

to this Thread. Be that as it may - I'm going to start posting images of my Dimes

followed closely with the Quarters and then, the Halves.

FYI - my collection will be hitting the block on August 11 & 12 at Heritage's

Pre-ANA auction. I will be there as well and if anyone else is attending, please

stop by and say Hello ! ... I will also be assisting Glenn Holsonbake at his table

during the Pre-Show and the ANA as well. I'll be at table # 1348.

Seems the size of the images are predicated as to when I uploaded them

to Photobucket and when I adjusted the import size on Photobucket.

I just uploaded the 1892-O to Photobucket - maybe one of these days,

I get around to replacing most of the images. I just retired - so - that'll

keep me busy for awhile.

Here's one I bought off eBay:

Once received I rejected the coin. Any guess why? I know the photo isn't great but it isn't my photo. (shrug)
