One of the wildest looking Proof Walkers I have seen.. and it's a 1936, to boot!

Oh, good Lord, that is magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have needed a '36 proof for a long time, and just have never saved up enough to get one. I don't think I could ever save enough to afford that one!

Mark, that's a supernaturally awesome coin, and I thank you for sharing it.

Here is a bit of pricing information/comparison for the coin.......

It was graded PR 65 by PCGS and sold for $6325.

That price was identical to what a color-free (dipped?) PCGS PR66 brought in the same sale.

The last two PR65's to appear in Heritage auctions sold for $4640 in September and $4887 in August.

As soon as I saw it, 1) my heart rate increased dramatically; 2) I was madly in love; 3) I was virtually certain that it would not go for merely PR65 money and 4) I knew there was an excellent chance that I would buy it for a client.

I have a 1942 in an NGC PR-67 holder that beats that coin for eye appeal, but it's a 1942.

Sadly the last 1936 Proof -65 graded half dollar I owned I sold for a $50 loss before the market run-up (gross selling price $1,600). :frustrated: It was the usual dipped example, however, and not nearly as nice as this one. (thumbs u

Do you normally see that kind of toning on Walkers? I wonder how it was stored to get toned that way?
No, that color is extremely unusual for a Proof Walker.
