It appears, from across the street, that most CAC related topics....

HRH and pcgs are Tools...

TDN's post from across the street.

HRH just asked me how long I wish to remain a member here - I guess my answer is 'I don't care' under these conditions. I have removed all my registry sets from this side of the street since I'm inactive these days. Pics/descriptions will remain on my website. Those wishing to discuss seated liberty coins can venture over to the website in my sigline.

and CC, There are a LOT of people here that aren't allowed ATS... Me included..

NGC doesn't have the insecurities that pcgs does.

And if you read all the posts that followed pcgs is getting it's handed to it on it's own board again.

Even the kool aid drinkers are getting fed up with their garbage..

edited to add; It seems that hrh is holding court so they must REALLY be worried...

He doesn't come out unless he expects some trouble..

But CC if you hurry you can get in line to kiss his ring.. (thumbs u

Good grief. Is PCGS trying all out to become the laughing stock of online numismatic forums? Whether one agrees with these discussions regarding the CAC, it's childish to approach censoring from such a childish and whiny perspective. I am SO glad I don't waste my time ATS.

I am enjoying the civil discussion of the CAC issue.

They could leave here too and leave us better for it.
Please provide a list of "they" for everyone. And then take a poll to see how many others agree with you that the forum would be "better" without "they".

Unbelievable is all I can say about the entire subject. Such censorship or whatever you want to call it from ATS is in my eyes ridiculous and just totally absurd. My gosh forums here or there should be to express opionions and learn from each other, thank God that NGC is professional in they way they manage and regulater their forums here. Thank you NGC and all Society Members that contribute here, regardless of specific opinions.

To me the most peculiar thing about the CAC and D.H./pcgs is that the reactive and paranoid nature of pcgs is so obvious. CAC gets to within 2 weeks of operation and All of a sudden you have pcgs sending out emails asking about some "Monumental Changes" to the way they are going to start doing things..

Forget the fact that they are years behind NGC, ANACS, and even ICG.

Now they are going to race up to the starting line and their management hasn't figured out that the race started years ago.

It is never more apparent than when D.H. comes out of his hole and starts "Answering" questions.

Does any one over there have any thing that resembles a business degree?

So CU is chasing off quality posters again? Is this going to become an annual event with them? A bunch of us got booted last December and now we seem to in round two. Gonna have to start watching your back over there. Start posting sensible intelligent posts over there and come the hollidays, they'll give you the boot. :)

Hey JamminJ, PCGS thought I was enough of a troublemaker to give me the boot, do I qualify high enough to be part of your "they"? I'd feel proud to be included with that esteemed group.

Just because you have a difference of opinion with Mark and/or TDN and/or Michael is no justification for their departure, whether it is voluntarily or involuntarily. The real issue is that if we deny them the right to speak freely, we are no better than anyone ATS.

It's not only their right to speak, but also the value their words provide to the community. Of the 3 people JamminJ mentioned, one I feel provides a great bit of value to the forums, one is a solid positive, and one is a big negative. That negative could be removed from the forums and we'd all (presumably) benefit. ATS does it to censor, not for community benefit.

Holy cow! Just to see what all the hubbub was about, I was looking at a thread ATS that said something about "stickers", and it just went *POOF* right in the middle of it!

What in the world are the so paranoid about over there?

Ironic that this just the kind of juvenile post you see all the time across the street.

The surprising thing is that there was thread over there this morning with a series of posts where collectors were REJECTING CAC. I put of a post that agreed with that premise. PCGS puffed it. hm

They are so afraid of intelligent commentary over there that they even silence the people who are lending their cause some support. That’s why their site hardly worthwhile. So long as you are posting lollypops and roses, it’s great. :acclaim: But bring up one controversial issue, and you are toast. :makepoint:

Yep, the "stickers" thread was anti CAC.

The censor at PCGS is clearly a person with limited mental abilities. . :insane:

(The “M” word that Curly Howard used for years now rates a “spoon.” hm)

At first I considered it somewhat odd because I really don't see how CAC would be a competitor to the slab companies in any way. In fact, when a CAC-stickered coin makes it to the hands of a crackout specialist (and of course this will happen), I would expect them to interpret the sticker as saying "resubmit me more times then you normally would." IOW, I do think that CAC would likely lead to _increased_ resubmissions to the slab companies, not the same amount or less. And I really don't see how this would cause favoratism for NGC over PCGS compared to whatever there may or may not be now.

But then let us realize that PCGS asked for suggestions on some ideas of new services for them. And one of them was a PQ-marker of some sort. And this would mean they would be competeing with CAC (or, at least to whatever small extent NGC also is what with star-modifiers). So I must wonder if the latest poof-fest over there should be read as proof that they will be starting to use PQ markers soon.
