do we have Seated Collectors here?

Why, of course, my numismatic brother!

I'd be a sorry excuse of a type collector without a various assortment of Seated Liberty coinage. (:

I really enjoy Seated dimes and half dimes and started a set of each about 30 years back. I started off looking for VF to AU coins but got side tracked a bit when I found something really cool. At about 90% complete I just about gave up the search and put it aside.

When PCI came out with the old green holder I started sending in some of the better coins. They were tough on Seated coins but for $6-$8 each I felt it was worth having them in a nice holder. The last several years ANACS has graded some of the cool varieties and PCGS got some that really needed to be removed from the albums.

At this point I have a really fragmented mess but still love every coin :)

Nice, Larry!! Did the coins get album toning in your care over the last 30 years or were they like that when you purchased them. And, what kind of album were they stored in?

It seems so weird to see an 1853 quarter with no arrows. :þ That is a great example!!

Great coins, Dwaine. Hard to see much detail from the pics but I can tell that you're a collector after my own heart. (thumbs u

And, thanks for the compliment, skyman. Ditto to you, bro!

Each one was a different story but the 85 and 91, with all the color, were bought raw with a bit of toning and I made a note that I felt they had been cleaned at the time. They were in a Littleton album (probably made by Dansco) for many years.

PCGS gave them an AT about a year back but I was almost sure that's what would happen.

I collect seated type coins. I've been working on them in MS-63 and 64 plus some Proofs if I can find what I want. Even though I'm looking for the most common dates, there is not that much to buy in this market. I've found it tough.

As a type collector then yes, I enjoy Seated Liberty coinage very much. However, I do not have the funds, nor the patience, to attempt them as a series.

Although I have a few nice looking Seated coins in my 1889 Mint & Proof Sets

I oddly don't have too many images.

I keep telling myself I'll get around to do some imaging.

Here's my 1889 Half - NGC 65 - from the Jim Gray collection.
