Coins Rattling around in a Bag

11 posts in this topic

This is the fate of a lot of the hoarded coins.

They slide around in sock drawers or get dumped out of a jar everytime the owner needs coins for the toll road for decades until they are pretty much ruined. Of course they are vulnerable to destruction to fire or flood so many don't survive at all.

Yes! But than he would have been a collector and wanted more for his coins.

I agree if they were in some sort of holders, you'd be paying on a per coin basis and not as a lot. So congratulation's on your bag of coins.

I still paid on a per coin basis. There were around 75 coins in the bag and I sorted them into no date, partial date and full date coins. While sorting them, I pulled out the coins that I knew were worth a premium and paid more.
