I do not collect the regular Eagle series of Gold coinage - I only collect the GOLD Buffalo's and NGC has merged them in with the regular Gold Eagle Series.

Seperate category since they are two different kinds of coins in design as well as gold content

My Query to the NGC Registry

***

I would like to officially request that the GOLD Buffalo's be alloted thier OWN Catagory and NOT be Pushed in with the American Gold Eagles.

My Reasoning is as follows.

The GOLD Eagles EXCLUDING the Buffalo's Are Like Coins with the Same design and the same Fineness of Gold Content

The Buffalo's Are not Like Coins to the American Eagles and have a different fineness of Gold Content

They are not Like coins and should not be Jumbled together for convienence sake.

I am sure this would not take a big change in the system to do but MAKES SENSE to have them separated

OR if you feel so inclined to leave them in the Gold American Eagle Catagory - Lets create a NEW catagory for Just for Buffalo's

You have set a precident for this type of split out with the 20th Anniversary Eagles Which have thier OWN catagory - They are the same as the regular Silver Eagles yet split out.

Since virtually all of these coins come from the mint as MS 69 - MS 70 I think having a registry for these is an absurdity.

These coins are not worth a premium much above bullion. I have been buying AGB coins at melt or 5% behind melt from walkup sellers at shows. On slabbed ones my high offer is full melt. Sellers who want more than that can go take a hike.

I'm with ya Irvin. I disagree as these will always be above melt. No different than other gold 20 years from now. They may be 69's and 70's now, but the future holds many different things.

Yes I think it would be tough to make much over bullion on these even if graded - afterall the way they come from the mint they are in 69 and 70 already. At shows I have them stacked like ordnance. I guess I keep thinking the big gold rally is gonna finally burst thru the line. Unfortunately I have got into the bad habit of moving these at just $5 over cost to get that big sale, really thin margin on a $700 coin.

I have never understood why some people will pay a huge premium for mods in high grade, but if thats what a customer wants then I certainly am glad to supply that coin. But those customers (bless their hearts) are as rare as certain key date coins!
