Excellent ANACS article on the electrotypes sold at the EAC auction

9 posts in this topic

I happened to run across this article on the ANACS website that discusses the electrotypes sold in the EAC auction. You might remember that I expressed shock and awe at the prices these "coins" sold for, having been present at the auction.

Enjoy the read. The article is well written.

Thanks, James. Very informative. I still would not pay any type of premium for a known counterfeit-regardless of when/how/why it was made. I understand why for the good reasons they made them, but to collect them and pay premiums for them, even though less than the real coin, is crazy to me. :screwy:

Different strokes for different folks.

Interesting article James. But even for eduacational purposes, I just don't think I could spend a couple thousand dollars on a coin that's not real.
