  1. What about this one? It ain’t Denver but it’s bronze and I’m pretty sure small.
  2. I figured. Ngl the 8 in this is really clean for a large date so that threw me off which is why I got you. Thank you sir.
  3. You know what I looked at the 2 again… I think I answered my own question. But please correct me if I’m either right or wrong.
  4. is this it? It looks promising but I need confirmation. The 9 looks a tad too big but isn’t the 2 the most important feature for small dates? The point of the 2 is nice and even versus the other example where even the 8 is bulging out and the 2 is huge. This is not. And it weights 3.1g
  5. Hey guys. This may sound dumb but just a question… are there usually baby ducks under the duck in an Arkansas State Quarter or is that just me? I looked at a few quarters from the PCGS and none seem to have it like this but it could be my eyes not seeing it due to quality
  6. I’m gonna help you out my man. Seeing as we both as so new at this, I’ll tell ya what helps me to pinpoint certain possibilities. Download an app called PCGS CoinFacts. You won’t regret it. It will tel you all you need to know.
  7. I understand what you are saying but the point I was trying to make is that I wish scratches under certain circumstances would be removed from the evaluation because it just doesn’t make sense to mark the grade of a coin less than what it was just because of one particular scratch. This scratch has really no effect on the piece other than being kind of cool how it was done. I know exactly how coin collecting works and unfortunately it is a little boring how grading is done. Having everything be in MS 69 conditions is what people want. They want a full Red no scratch on anything coin that has survived for as long as it did in circulation or Mint condition, uncirculated. Quite boring if you ask me but hey… give them what they want and they’ll go from there.
  8. I got told the other day that my 1992-D is not even close to a CAM. This was mine. Unfortunately what you have is not a CAM. It is A WAM. If you go online and look at bids for these or you go to PCGS CoinFacts you’ll see how close the A to M really is.
  9. What I’m truly stumped about is how it got there still. Even if it isn’t as aesthetically pleasing to some collectors it might be to the right collector as from what was described by powermad5000. After having looked at it again with his notes it does seem to show that another coin hit it directly on the tail. The probability of this happening as perfectly as it did is slim to none. It reminded me of certain fiction novels or stories where hawks would be depicted to have a wounded tail in that exact shape, hence why it is kind of cool it ended up like that. but… as I have discovered in this “trade”, this coin is PMD and nothing more. I think it looks really cool though overall.
  10. I found another coin that may or may be DDO but it could just also be Strike Doubling. side question does F.S stand for First Strike?
  11. Do you think it was PMD while inside the Mint? I have had this coin for a long time and my mother at times collected coins too and she shopped in Walmart around the time they came out. And even if it was done inside the Mint… would that increase the value or decrease due to it solely being PMD?
  12. Hello everyone! I found this coin after having investigated multiple other nickels like this of my own and on the PCGA CoinFacts app and it seems as though most of the time the die between the L and I in “Liberty” clash together but in this one it doesn’t do that at all. thoughts?
  13. Just a question… would Soviet era coins be worth something? I noticed one of the coins with a stronger ping than the rest of the other ones I have rn and it was lighter. Usually the lighter the coin, the more precious the metal that was used right?
  14. I understand that but as you couldn’t already tell I’m green when it comes to things like this. I’m just now getting used to the fact you aren’t gonna pull a God tier coin every time you look at something that could be. It was a possibility. And why I acted like this in the first place was someone else basically attempted to question me for asking questions. Is that not fair to assume that I thought someone thought I was dumb for asking a question I could have answered myself? I would say yes and no… two sides of the same coin. Pun fully intended.
  15. I apologize for being confused on your intentions. A lot of people just bash you for being wrong or cocky. I wasn’t trying to be cocky but I was definitely wrong. I thought the expert I went to just didn’t have a good magnifying glass with him at the time hence why I thought what I saw and asked for other opinions. My bad my man.
  16. How many old farts did it take to screw in a lightbulb? One because the other refused to see the light of day. No need to bash me for trying to spread info that I thought would be applicable to a post that is made for questions like I had. But thanks for making it seem like I’m some hack that is gonna hack your stuff. 😭😭
  17. In my couple of months of starting to coin collect I have never heard more entitlement in my life. I ask a question about a concept that might exist and all I have been getting is answers that are either blatantly attempting me to make me feel stupid or actual answers that actually teaching me what and what isn’t true in the numismatic world. I understand that this “die pooling” is a brand new term to you guys but this is something I merely observed… not something I’m running with. I already concluded at this point that this is indeed a WAM and I don’t need to know how many years of experience you have to solidify this fact that you “know so much” im brand new at this. Ever heard of common decency? Just tell me what I said doesn’t exist and move on! I don’t need your whole life story 😭😭 what I meant by pooling of die is that you see how the point toward the end of the A is rounded? That is what I mean. It isn't pointed like the rest, hence my observation. But in either case I see your point and have concluded that this is indeed a WAM and will not look further into it. Thank you for asking me a legit clarifying question I was very happy to answer
  18. We all have at least one Body Bag in our career. That is what I have heard being a coin collector. If this is indeed a BB well lesson learned. But I’m still royally stumped about the die pooling.
  19. This is true and this is the key indication that it is indeed a WAM. But I’m still so confused about that pooling of die leaning closer towards the M. It doesn’t make sense to me. Of course the machinery is not perfect to make what they want to make on the spot but could this has been a CLOSE that was turned to a WIDE? That is what I’m trying to have answered. Thank you for giving an actual legitimate answer btw.
  20. You do not believe it to be anywhere close to a CAM because it looks too close to call. It looks like it is in between a WIDE and a CLOSE... which is why I pointed out the slight pooling of die coming closer towards the M as it seems like the machine was about to make it a close AM but they stopped. This is why I need an expert. Not schmucks.
  21. Your friend must be in the wrong line of work if that’s the case. How come it is not a CAM? Why is there a pooling of die that makes it look like it was to be brought closer together??? And why is the FG exactly where it needs to be for a CAM? I need another opinion. Not one from Mr. High Horse over here.
  22. I live in Massachusetts. We have everything we need where we want it to be. That’s Boston Strong baby 💪
