    I had figured most of it was damage post minting. Just the gouge on the edge to the right of Washington's head that left almost a perfect semi circle inside the rim caught my eye and seemed odd. But just thought I'd try and get another opinion on it. Thank you for all the replies, much appreciated for your input.

    Amateur collector for awhile now. Just got this in some change and I am unable to tell whether these gouges in it are damage from wear and tear or possibly mint errors. Thanks for any help!
