  1. @powermad5000 thank you so much for realizing it’s not the same coin and proving my point of how people in this group think they know so much. Much respect and thank you for your insight with out being contradicting with what you say. Most people just want to be right and make others share their opinions. It’s not the same pic. https://www.lincolncentresource.com/doubledies/1994ddo1.html it’s from a 1994 DDR that apparently doesn’t exist or “people mistakenly think” was the quote I think. But again thank you for your info and I’ll be sure to keep hunting.
  2. My question was right under the picture I’m not sure if I can spell my question any better.
  3. If one were missing I’d say it was once there or usually there. I put no mint mark cause there isn’t one. As I wrote a whole question out to read and then get a response from others. Like I said I’m still a newbie tho I’ll take the helpful hint. so we are all to the conclusion this is die deterioration and not die doubling?
  4. Sorry your question spun out of control with people arguing about how to treat each other over the internet. Some people feel the need to give their opinions and tell you how you should also share their opinion too. But just think in a couple more years there’s gonna be doctors/judges/most teachers with tattoos and helpful information and not 64 year olds that have spit shinned pennys since they were 6 years old and called it a proof today. I’m a NEWBIE also and had kind of the same question. I knew mine wasn’t a proof unless it had traveled a couple pockets till it came into my hands. I was told mine was DDD (die deterioration, doubling) instead of DDR(double die reverse). Sadly these are only worth face value. The best part is you can go into anywhere that expects cash and they’ll give you 1c for it. keep hunting…we will find one!
  5. If I’m not mistaken this is what a Philadelphia penny would look like but like I said I’m new 🫣
  6. Hey I’m pretty new at all of this and was doing research but I think we all know how YouTube and eBay can take you down a rabbit hole that always seems to lead to 2 Guys digging a pool. So my thing is I have a 1990 no mint mark penny with clear doubling on reverse with word “AMERICA” maybe some more doubling else places too. I was doing research and I can not really tell if it’s a proof that has been tossed around a lot of pockets or just a reg 1990 no mint. I’m really curious on how rare my 1990 penny is and the current value. I’m gonna see if I can’t find more about it while I get some answers for you guys thank you all much appreciated.
  7. I feel like the next thing someone should say is it’s impossible because the moon gravitational pull this time of year doesn’t align with the stars so there couldn’t be a 2 there. I’d actually believe it instead of taking new pictures everyday like everyone is telling me to. I’m not hating I do appreciate it but like penny’s get made on dime planchets. What’s more fat fetched a random two or a penny being made on a completely different metal??!!?
  8. All I’m saying is it’s definitely there we all see it so it’s not made up lmao But even if it’s just surface damage that formed a perfect 2 that’s still bad and you can feel it with your fingers.
  9. I wasn’t using a scope for those pictures I used my phone camera.
  10. So you don’t see the 2? Under the five. east of the S. All different photos
  11. I appreciate the lengthy response seriously. I’ve only just started collecting alil less than a year. So all the links and insights are helpful and fun so thank you as for mag and lighting I was in a work shed and using my Snapchat camera app and my phone light. So maybe I need to not use my light on my phone anymore is the issue but is no one gonna mention the 2 right next to the S. When I ran my finger across it I felt a protrusion but could not see it with just my naked eye. I have mult pictures of it zoomed in at different angles so I feel like something is there it’s not the lighting but once again I’m pretty much a virgin at this stuff. Thank you all again for the help I will start a new threat next question I have😇
  12. so what about this 1955 s penny. Not trying to change the subject but since we are talking about lighting. Also I have a scope that connects to my phone with 50x zoom I’m just to shaky of a person to use it all the time. I appreciate all your guys insight. Hope everyone has a good weekend
