  1. Hi, thanks for the comment! Right now we are in our free beta. Our plan is to keep the beta free for inventory management and other features as they relate to coin collectors. For coin dealers, we plan to build additional advanced features like expense and sales accounting. I think AI will play a large role in how we build out our platform to come. I think it has great potential for price tracking and analysis! We would like to eventually crack pricing for rare coins, but we have historically struggled to form data partnerships as we are small and provide little value to large companies. Some sales data is retrievable but most is proprietary to the auction house/sales platform. I think as we grow this will change! I think what you are talking about with pricing is certainly feasible! I would love to explore this more as our resources and user base grows! Thank you very much, and I hope you have gotten the change to test out our inventory tracking beta!
  2. Thank you for this comment. We are building out the accounting piece at the moment, as well as ways to import your collection easier (such as from a spreadsheet). We will certainly account for other expenses not solely related to the actual coin itself. I would love to build our system out to the point where someday you might find it useful!
  3. Thank you for your input on the thread! I pay attention to the helpful comments and the not so helpful. I'm doing my best to learn what I can and improve my project accordingly! I am sorry to have offended you with my post, but I would remind you that commenting on it in the first place is a choice you do not have to make.
  4. The amount of "angry collectors" on the NGC forum will never cease to amaze me 😂. Perhaps that is a thread for another time
  5. As many of you may recall, we launched www.RaritiesValue.com a couple of months ago as a free tool to manage your coin collection or rare coin inventory. We are now working on accounting software for dealers to help manage sales, expenses, profits and invoices. We hope to finish this module and push it live before the end of the year. MY QUESTION TO YOU: What are problems that you face as a rare coin dealer, collector, or investor? What tools can we build to help make your life easier?
  6. Thank you to those who are following this thread! We just pushed a batch of updates per feedback!
  7. Hello! You can access https://www.raritiesvalue.com on your smartphone, yes! It would work just as if you are viewing any website on your phone. I would recommend using a computer for the best experience but the option is there. Also, we hope to be working on a mobile app sometime in the near future but I don't have a timeline for that yet.
  8. What is the name of the platform you use? I would love to check it out!
  9. This is an interesting and certainly valid perspective! I will admit that I lack any experience of computers and the tech atmosphere of the 80's or 90's. I hope that I can help lead my generation in building secure and trusted platforms to enhance collecting. I think it's where the world and hobby are headed. I would not want losing an entire generation of collectors to be the result.
  10. I appreciate your comments! Will return the prayer and hope you never have to worry about the fire extinguishers
  11. If you have a highly private collection and are concerned to the point of subpoenas and grid failures, I think you require something far beyond what we are trying to build. I won't lie to you, this might be for the more casual collector or dealer! However, I would challenge you and suggest that digitally storing records in addition to paper copies may be more secure. We are consistently working and improving security and transparency with user data. Our business model currently comes from subscriptions and not from using or selling your coin collection data. I think losing, or having physical copies damaged is a much more problematic scenario than digital assets. Our export feature allows you to backup your collection on a spreadsheet locally to your device if you choose. You could download a spreadsheet and backup your collection at any time and that information will be stored off the cloud on your computer if you so choose.
  12. I understand! We are working on an import feature which would allow you to put in your current spreadsheet and easily upload your coins to the platform. Of course this is totally your call but I see the problem you are presenting and we are constantly working on improvements. Thanks for the comment
  13. @VKurtB @samclemen3991 Great advice, and very valid points. That is a clear concern for us as well not only from a business perspective but from the perspective of someone who actually cares about our users. We have developed an exporting option already which will allow you to download all items in inventory to a spreadsheet in the event you would like to leave our platform, or if something happens to us. Right now we are focused on making a business that can be sustainable, but that requires users and more importantly paying users. The exporting feature will go live in our next batch of updates. We will continue to create these features based on what you as a user are interested in. We have enough cash to continue operations for the foreseeable future. As for our team, we are young and trying to learn as we go! You bring up a great point about succession. Barring any unexpected major event or tragedy, I am committed to providing notice to users and would make attempts to secure user data should the business and website fail. Thank you for your concern.
  14. Thank you! Perhaps we can add some offline element in the future.
  15. Thank you for your comment and questions! 1. The program is currently cloud based. I think that this makes the most sense in terms of keeping up with the "trends of technology". However I could see a downside in terms of not being able to edit offline. Can I ask, which would you prefer? 2. We have a small founding team, but definitely plan to grow as our userbase and funding increases. I do not handle the development but my co-founder has proven himself capable. We want to add more developers as soon as possible. Part of the reason I have done discovery in places like this is to research what collectors really want as well as excite everyone for what's to come. There's a lot of development happening in the industry (I am aware of a number of coin startup projects that have not gotten much attention), and we plan to be on the cutting edge. 3. I appreciate your input on coinmanage. I have not used their platform but it's good to know that it is easy to navigate. From what I can tell, it looks fairly outdated. I hope this is something we can improve on. Reports are interesting, we have some plans to implement custom reporting in our platform down the line. As far as customer service goes, we make this a priority even with our limited people resources. You can always reach out to me here, via email as listed on our site, or on social media. We have already taken feedback and implemented changes from many early users. I really appreciate you taking the time to ask some questions. I hope that we can build something that you will enjoy using in the future.
  16. It does seem like the industry is highly fragmented! This has given me some ideas in terms of features that we could implement to allow for easier transactions for dealers, which would then flow to collectors in terms of better offerings and lower prices. We have a pretty busy road map right now but in the coming months I think we could implement some helpful integrations. Thank you very much!
  17. Can I ask what some of the main features you like and value about it are?
  18. By stock values do you mean inventory levels from different sales channels (like eBay, online stores, etc.)? Or the market prices? We have a lot of requests to add auction records and pricing. I think that is an interesting path we could take! It could certainly be done but would require some partnerships we do not currently have.
  19. Hey, I respect the honesty! I encourage you to stay updated with our progress. We are early in development and already getting great feedback from users. If you have any constructive feedback in terms of what would actually make this platform useful for you, or what you would like built to help handle your collecting needs, we would love to hear it. -Chad
  20. We are adding the ability to add custom sets in the next batch of updates (coming in a week or two). You are already able to add anything to the inventory table view, but the sets will only work for US coins at the moment. Give us a week or two to get that updated! We are definitely focused more on dealers from a business model perspective, but I wanted to create something for collectors as well. There will be optional features that collectors or dealers can pay for, but I anticipate a free plan will be available for some time.
  21. Nothing wrong with that! Thank you for your honest and respectful input.
  22. @Coinbuf I appreciate that! We are working hard to hopefully build something great for collectors like yourself to eventually use! I understand the pain and time cost of switch over as well as the inconvenience of learning a new system. Can you think of anything that would make you or collectors like you be motivated to switch?
  23. Nice! I have heard that software being used by a few people. Is there anything you would like that they changed about it to make it better or easier to use?
