  1. My question is when i did the online submission it said it was going to be around $50 and then 4 weeks later i had 80 taken from my account. Let hope they do the right thing here. I took it to Scottsdale coin and they could not determine the exact metal but did rule out Gold Silver,Copper And Brass. He said by the looks and sound and weight that it is probably zinc lead pewter and or possibly other white metals. It does have a ting sound when dropped
  2. Not that i am aware of. How does that determine the metal composition?
  3. Is this something they can do with a standard service? Even though they already charged an extra $30 after the initial payment of $50
  4. Not that i am aware of… what exactly is a gravity test? They have a XRF
  5. Also, other than the stars and stripes… the wreath runs in the opposite direction
  6. Yes sir, I’ve spoke to two different people there and it has gone back. I hope they look further into the composition! That is the biggest thing at this point.
  7. Thanks so much for that info sir. I did not know that…. Im hopeful they will do the right thing here. I have told them I would pay the fee to use there new service with XRF
  8. Absolutely correct and this is what i have been trying to say. Hopefully i can re-submit while the token is still there. I made a mistake with original submission and put a f-230/352b “white metal” without doing the proper research, i just dont want to see it shipped back and then turn around and ship it back to them all because of a piece of paper that gives a different description. Why cant i submit an inline form stating the correct description? its very obvious this token is not brass nor is it copper. I will pay the extra fee to have it slabbed correctly. And furthermore, i would think that anybody who is anybody would want there name on this attribute and grade on this one of a kind token.
  9. Very interesting…. Could be j r or m gentleman at Scottsdale coin did also said that the way it appears to look bubbled up in the field that would more than likely be zinc. But dont rule out lead or tin. In my opinion… im leaning toward zinc. Im sure the fine people at NGC will know for sure what composition it really is.
  10. Thank you for taking the time to research… it’s greatly appreciated. What would the j stand for?
  11. These three compositions would lead me to believe a white metal or possibly german silver which has some compositions that a white metal would have
  12. No, it is definitely not brass. The gentleman at Scottsdale coin told me its zinc and probably by the weight (3.4g) lead possibility by the sound tin
  13. And did you see this token in his book? What exactly did you read….
  14. Thanks Rod, may i ask what edition of civi war tokens by Mr. Bowers
  15. white metal alloy may include antimony, tin, lead, cadmium, bismuth, and zinc(some of which are quite toxic). Not all of these metals
  16. The term white metal is used all the time for these tokens and NGC. It means there are different compositions of metal from that time period. It’s basically a pot metal that was used for planchets by these private companies.
  17. Its a 231/352g or b not sure but it has been confirmed white metal from Scottsdale coin… never seen one before, only in Copper and Brass. There is no split or file marks on the rim and is perfectly flat weighs 3.4g
  18. Does this status mean its been through attribution and now of to grading? Or can you tell me exactly whats going on with this token
  19. It has been 5 days since my token was received, how long does it usually take to get into system? (First step) Thanks
  20. Okay, thank you. I appreciate your quick response
  21. When i put coin in the flip i put in a small 2x3x1 box and then packed into a larger 12x12x5 box with hand written label with customer number and usps label of course. But my main question is …. Will forgetting to put invoice number on flip be a problem? I did pack there copy of submission form in with packing (packing list) will this be okay? Also in note box i put description of the civil war token and since the reference FULD# was only copper version i put R9-10 ( white metal). I hope all this is correct because I truly believe this token is authentic extremely rare first find and discovery .
