It appears  as a uniface strike. It is common for the rims to be fully intact as the planchet that landed on it was centered. You can see the deformation or flattened rims where the blank pushed down on the other coin.

Those hopes and dreams double died right here. So sad. ;(

Please show us the metallurgical testing print out. Until then I call BS. A big problem is the coin is not graded or encapsulated which tells me you are full of it. If anything, you say is true the coin would be in a holder with a metallurgical breakdown printed on the holder with the grade. So... there's that

@dcarr Ok thank you for posting your work. I enjoyed the medals. The funny ones are great. I can appreciate your original pieces. However, I'm still not a fan of the semi copy restrikes. The medals are well made and have a certain style to them that is unique. Thank you for your efforts. I like your owl design. I now see some redeeming value in your work. Cheers 

Yes, they are extremely valuable in higher grades.

@dcarr Ok I'll give you a chance. Post a coin or medal you have minted with your OWN design with no basis in/on ANY US coin design. If you can show me your own proprietary art incorporated in ANY medal you make, I will honestly evaluate it like any other coin or medal. I may like it. I may not.

I can get that verdi off pretty easy or I could just have NCS do it. I just grabbed it for the year and I will be surprised if it's a coin worth grading when I get it but it's definitely uncirculated.

I think its really poor etiquette to hawk junk in a forum dedicated to real coin collecting. I'm glad the club exists but the attempt to "hype" junk is not well received. This should have been posted in Coins for Sale where nobody would care or see it.

That is an ancient Greek bronze coin from appx 400-50 B.C. based on the metal type, hammered style and the markings on the coin. Further identification must be done by an expert in ancient Greek and Roman coins. There is enough detail left to positively identify this coin. NGC Ancients would be able to authenticate, identify and grade this coin. Good luck.

That coin needs to be graded and encapsulated. It is a nice example of its type with the common yet very pronounced die clash it is worth a premium if certified. The coin has significant historical value as one of the few remaining identifiable early cents. Nice coin. If you want to sell I'm buying.

A graded and certified coin will usually bring a premium over gold spot price. The fact that it is certified, graded (usually PF69-PF70) and protected in a holder lends to a higher sale price. If the coin was not graded, then it just for no reason other than market demand sold for a premium over spot. I would have it authenticated at a jewelry shop or local coin shop before you count your chickens. Original packaging or not it could easily still be a complete fake. Gold plated copies of this coin are everywhere. They originate in China and have been made there for many, many years. Even current modern silver and gold coins are counterfeited by the thousands daily in China and sold off to unscrupulous coin sellers. Be aware. Be sure and have it weighed, XRF tested and examined by a knowledgeable person. The coin if real is valuable but...that's why they are often faked....Good luck...let us know what happens on this thread in the future if you find out anything. Cheers

If it is real it's worth $2,336.30 (5/1/2024) spot gold price in pure gold value. Possibly slightly more if in excellent condition and graded and encapsulated with a higher-than-average grade. Thanks Grandma!

Absolutely not. Your coins details and strike are not even close to the Chapman proof. No way.
