Hardly any goodies the past two days, but i present to you a question.

Would you rather find that W V75 Salt River Bay quarter from yesterday, worth a minimum of 10 bucks on ebay, or this silver quarter, worth exactly 25 cents, or whatever melt value is, that i found today. Huh?

    20220902_102910.thumb.jpg.c8f82eaf1fee4cec99cf52703ffd1456.jpg20220902_102859.thumb.jpg.32a6f41776a210d5faa2c50ad55b11cc.jpg

i asked you a question there fella, you gonna answer?

My heart says the silver quarter, since I've been actively searching for them for 45+ years.  But my brain says the "W" quarters due to relative rarity and that the ones in circulation are slowly dwindling or getting worn.

two days in a row! Please say hello to K for me. I'll have something to send off in September, which is horrifyingly right around the corner, so...

Will do.  Keep the streak going!  A buffalo a day keeps the boredom away!

I hope you know I'm kidding with the bleach/vinegar solution! I believe that combo creates a deadly gas, if i recall correctly from 9th grade earth science, about 40 years ago, lol. Have a great day!

    P.s.

Whatever i did clean that coin with, i believe it damaged the silver, as it feels less smooth, and i little pocked, after the treatment. Oh well.

I totally missed that about the chemicals!  Yes a lot of dip solutions really mess up the coin!  But it's worth scrap at a minimum.  3.73 as of this morning.

As everyone knows, my finds happen at two speeds, and two speeds only, feast, or famine. All or nothing. Go big, or go home. That's it, just two speeds. Although sometimes, you get lighter days. So maybe feast, famine, and well fed. Those three. And actually, sometimes you get really light days, too. So feast, famine, well fed, and lightly fed. To be honest, some days can be moderately heavy, as well. So, feast, famine, well fed, lightly fed, moderately fed, but that's it. I think. Sometimes things can be lightly heavy, as well. Whatever, I'm getting ahead of myself. On to today's finds, so far. One never knows what a few hours may bring.

check it out @Dano1969, not bad for almost 70 years old!

I say, that any Buffalo you find with a readable date is a great find!

Found this, too. My 6th, i believe. To clean, or not to clean. That is what I'm asking. Too late. Already in the bleach bath. I like a combination of bleach, vinegar, and coarse sand, mixed into a paste, and rubbed on thick. Let it sit in an enclosed space. Rinse, and walla! Just like new!

we'll see what this one looks like, tomorrow. I'll give you the "afters", then.

    CJ,

Not sure how your cleaning of this came out.  And as others said, no harm in trying to clean it on this example.  Tarn-X is a good quick(but harsh!) silver dipping cleaner.  If this had a readable date, i'd leave it be.  But i hope you get get some detail after your method.

Thank you to @VKurtB and @Lem E for the title of my new thread. Took me long enough. I invite @Dano1969, as well, i hope you will join in. All are welcome, and i encourage everyone to post their daily finds, right here. All my finds are "circulation" finds, as compared to "change" finds. I'm also not a CRH, not enough volume. Anyway, found this about 45 minutes ago. Wanted to share with all six of you out there. As always, thanks for stopping by.
