  1. Here is a 1793 North Wales Halfpenny Token. From what I have researched it’s a DH1b. Saw it on a dealers website as a DH4a. It measures 29mm, has 29 acorns (16 right & 13 left) and edge marked “Payable in London Bristol & Lancaster -x-“. Also, is it worth getting it graded? Thx in advance for any help!
  2. Wouldn’t a worn die then show more wear or unevenness along the very bottom of Lincoln’s silhouette? I realize wear wouldn’t necessarily be consistent around edge of entire die.
  3. Thx for that! I have a 1983 that I was questioning finish on. It looks like entire surface has bad plating. Common?
  4. Wondering on type of error? Struck thru die cap or struck thru grease? Whole obverse edge has issues. “L” in Liberty is missing. Last “9” of date is half missing. “IN” of In God We Trust almost flat. Thoughts? Also, any added value as an error coin? Thx!
  5. Oldhoopster, thx for quick reply! What about the “string of pearls” on reverse? What caused those?
  6. Came across this while hunting thru my huge bottle of pocket change. From what I have been able to learn about errors, it looks like it was struck thru a late stage die cap. Given condition, would it warrant grading? Also curious about “string of pearls” in finish on bottom of reverse. What caused these? Thanks for any feedback!
  7. Here is another from Dad’s old collection. Trying to positively ID this one. It appears to be a Km 15.1,2,3,4. Of all versions I can find info on, some appear to have no mint mark, but most have what looks like a five petaled flower or star. This one has an “x” mint mark at bottom of obverse. I can’t seem to find anything like that anywhere. Any help to ID and what the correct KM number might be? Rarity? Thx, Jim
  8. Here is another of Dad’s old collection. Another one of my favorites! Trying to positively ID this one. Ideas on grade and value also. Edge reads “ Payable in London Bristol & Lancaster -x-“. 29 acorns, 29mm. D&H 1b? D&H 3b? D&H 4a?. Call to all token gurus out there! Thx, Jim
  9. To all, Thx for the feedback! Here are a few more pics. I was thinking VF just because there is enough original detail of the finer points like the tree tops and horizon line. Jim
  10. Here’s another coin from Dad’s old collection. One of my favorites! Given condition, thoughts on a grade for this specimen? Thanks!
  11. John, Thx for the reply! I have been on the HA site but not Stacks. I’ve seen two of these graded MS64, neither red, that were sold for $270 plus. NGC shows 2 at 64 and 1 at 66. PGCS shows 1 at 63. I definitely think I’ll take the time to send it in. Could be a top pop! Jim
  12. Coinbuf, Thanks for your time. Very informative and much appreciated! Jim
  13. DW, Thx for reply! Any ID numbers associated with it? Jim
  14. Coinbuf, Thx for your reply! What do you see that holds it back? I’m trying to learn more about grading. Jim
  15. This is from Dad’s old collection. After researching, there are few graded by NGC and only one tops out at MS65 and 2 at 64. This appears to to better than all I have see and is Red! Definitely going to send it in to be graded and hope for a top pop! It’s A. M. Johnston Buffalo NY. F-105K-1a. It’s only an R1 but still pretty special I think. Any thoughts from those more qualified would be appreciated. Also, what value could be added if it turns out to be a Top Pop? Thank you Jim
  16. Dad’s old collection. 1971 Eisenhower dollar appears to have some doubling on the reverse. Most noticeable on the first 5 or 6 letters of “ONE DOLLAR”. The first O, the leg of the N, the E and the left side and inside of D are the most prevalent. Any thoughts and is this unique? Have not seen references to DDO Eisenhowers. Thanks!
  17. Still evaluating my Dad’s old collection. Thinking of sending this quarter in for grading. In comparing to one’s seen at Heritages Auctions and others, I think this could grade very high and have some significant value. It has some beautiful rose bluish toning in upper left on both sides. The pics don’t do it justice. I would appreciate a more experienced eye to confirm (or not) my thoughts. Appreciate any feedback!
  18. Can anyone help me in identifying this medal. It’s white metal. I can find similar but not the exact medal. It measures 34mm. Thx for any help!
