Well it's been 2 weeks since I asked my question about the Star Trek signature labels and nobody has even responded yet.  My post still hasn't even been approved by a mod.. what's with that?

I found an article saying that 1,701 special signed labels were released in Australia only.  I think.. sorry, it wasn't very clear. It also didn't give a break-out of how many signature labels exist for each coin.

I now own a few of these and would love to know how many were released.

I was hoping an NGC member might be able to help me.

I'm a Star Trek fan and have recently purchased some Tuvalu Star Trek coins, including some with the limited William Shatner signature label.

Is there any way to tell how many labels were signed by Shatner?  When I lookup the Shatner coins vs. the standard label coins, I see the same counts.. for all Star Trek coins.

Example:

4394954-366 - 2016P Tuvalu Star Trek Proof - PF70 - Shatner Label - 2,743 in PF 70 UC

Maybe I'm not reading it correctly.  But how do I tell how many have the Shatner label, it's not all 2,743?

As a collector and a huge Star Trek fan, this information is important to me.  Why release a limited edition label if the count is unknown?

You could post in the Ask NGC section and see if you can get an answer. It might be an oversite or error on the site that can be corrected.

That is what I wanted to know.  Of the 324 PF70's, how many have the Shatner label.  100, 50, fewer?  It would be good to know, from a collector's standpoint.  Why wouldn't they(NGC) keep track of that?

Ridley Scott should have signed some of those beautiful Alien coins.. just a thought.

Can we please get more celebrity signature labels?

Not only do I think they are great, but I think they will help to bring more collectors to the coin collecting world.

There are a lot of Disney/Marvel coins, bring in some Marvel celebrities to do some limited edition signature labels.  I sure would love to have had a signature label on my Tuvalu Black Panther coin.

Just a thought from a newly interested old collector. 

When I look up this coin, see below, it doesn't show a count for the coins with a Shatner label.  Is there anyway to find out how any of these have the Shatner signature labels?  I actually just bought one, so I was curious.  

ps.. I'm still very new to this site and learning how to navigate..

I can't find that label in the census, but if you search a cert #, with that label, on NGC Verify it will pull up the population for that coin/label, click on the population and it takes you to the census but the Shatner label is not displayed. The Trouble with Tuvalu? 

Being an IOM collector one of my favorites was always The Gamesters of Triskelion.

There is a slabbed NGC 1 oz gold coin I am considering buying on eBay.  The coin is a proof with a limited run of about 1,000 I think, and they are all numbered.  The seller has less than 100 feedbacks.  Should I be wary of buying a slabbed gold coin like this on eBay?  Do people break the slabs and replace the coins?  I've never spent bought a coin at this price but I really like/want it!

If I do buy it, can I send it in to the NGC for validation?
