  1. I have to apologize about the edge photos that I posted instead of me taking photos of the rim. I just realized my mistake. Sleep deprivation causes wonders and wreaks havoc .... Here are the rim photos as requested, both obverse and reverse. Sorry for the misaligned order of the pics.
  2. Sorry guys. Been really busy since I posted yesterday. Sorry for the delay. My coin on the left, red- same year cent on the left, brown. Thanks.
  3. Would this be considered a Reverse Partial Collar? I’m leaning away from a Wide Collar as this coin is the same diameter as other normal cents. The “taller and thinner” letters of ONE CENT immediately caught my attention on this coin. Thank you.
  4. Went through my mom’s old coin collection that was full of wheats. This one obviously stood out like a sore thumb. By now I feel I have a fairly good understanding in distinguishing between PMD and Mint errors and DDD. However, I’m a bit stumped on this one. At first glance I was sure it was PMD. However, after looking at both sides of this cent I came to a “semi” conclusion that the “dents” are rather consistent in being in the same location on both the obverse and reverse. It also appears that if you were to draw a line from say 11 o’clock and down to 5 o’clock on the face of the coin the lines would “connect”. This looks to be true on many of the dents around the rim of the coin. I remember reading somewhere about this type of damage that could be caused by some sort of possible die deterioration. Just looking for some input and I won’t be disappointed if the jury is unanimous in calling this PMD. Thanks.
  5. Hello all. Greg here. Came across this beautiful coin and the pics just don’t do it justice. Just looking for some feedback on this coin. It’s a 1979 P and the entire coin is “gold” colored as you can see. Viewed through my loupe this coin has very high relief on all surfaces (if I’m saying that correctly...). I know there are narrow and wide rim varieties from this year but I’m not sure about this one. I’m leaning more toward a wide rim variety. Not sure if this is a proof or what. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Greg
