I say ms 63; it's nice-looking, but not exactly the greatest strike I've ever seen (disclaimer; I am not an experienced grader, particularly not with buffalo nickels. The grade provided is a guesstimate based off a general idea of grading, not how to grade buffalo nickels specifically)

it appears that the center of the coin is raised above the rest of the field, right? I've seen the reverse of this before (parts of the field near the rim are raised), but I don't remember if it was a striking issue or pmd...

well, I wouldn't recommend "sweet-talking", as part of competing in the market means getting a rep for unbiased grading, so they'd probably be more apt to hold it against you... anyhow, hey, why not? worst case scenario, you got them graded, so then you'll know. would recommend getting the add-on where they send you back your mint packaging, in case you ever decide to "crack" the slabs.

well, it has some copper, so in the mint's mind, same thing right? After all, would you be all that surprised if the mint came out with a "silver" coin with only like 10% actual silver content in the alloy?

this smells of fractional stock ownership... I'm not joking, it's literally now possible to buy a small sliver of a stock... a stock of stock, if you will

don't forget, that coin value and how many coins not only affects the purchase price, but things like shipping and insurance (not to mention, whether you're submitting internationally or not)

probably just to make them feel good about essentially just being board members who didn't get a special title...

....when you enter a coin forum, and find a thread dedicated to bashing a specific member's teaching and posting... you know you're on ngc...

uh, literally every issue of the numismatist for the past who knows how many months has pres ellsworth talking about how the ana needs more donations, and needs layoffs, and needs cutbacks on the length of the magazine (at least like four articles have been cut out, and only one added). Not to mention exec director Kiick has been also writing about a need to raise more funds, in addition to the various fundraiser ideas the organization has been trying, such as the past president slabs thing. Sure, you could argue that the ANA is well-situated in the middle of no-where, but the idea that they're financially okay is entirely off from the reality of the current situation. And far as your question of why any collector would want to go to those larger cities? Perhaps some actually need more than one reason to actually get a on a plane and go somewhere, not to mention that in a big city, a trip to the museum could easily be "slid in" the schedule amongst whatever else they may be already going there for. (btw, I am a member of the ANA, and would support the ANA museum moving, if it were practical and possible from a financial perspective, which it's not). At the end of the day, consider this; is the Smithsonian in some out of the way place? Is any large, major museum? I guess it's a decision of how you see the ANA's museum; a small little place put together, or a institution containing one of the finest numismatic holdings in the world.

The ANA is able to lease the building for the money museum at a very low cost... that alone defeats most of the motivation to move. If they ever did bother to move, realisticly the only reasonable place to move would be near some other popular museums... sort of, hey, we're already here looking at museums, let's check this out type deal; beyond that, how would a different location really generate enough increased foot traffic to justify all the cost and effort of moving, particularly since the ANA has already "slimmed" down it's magazine (I noticed those like four-five columns going missing without notice, btw ANA), and used ad space to market various campaigns to raise funds, in addition to increase in asking for donations.

kinda wish there wasn't just a dual system of tpg's today (realisticly, pcgs and ngc are the top dogs in the market), because it'd be nice to have more than two options (or in my case, one, because I'm too much of a cheapskate to bother paying for pcgs when I get ngc membership free)

If you don't support that nonsense of presidents staying on, and other Ellsworth nuttiness (pardon the pun) I'll vote for you

perhaps it has to do with how you submitted? I know that with NGC, you need to pay for the varietyplus or minterror service for most errors and varietys (except for uber popular ones) to be recognized...

I see you found a nice example of the rare ngc anniversary commemorative.... great find, although I prefer them with a little more luster...
