Picked this up from the boys at Coin Rarities Online last week. They are a real pleasure to deal with and they use Mark Goodman for their images so what you see is what you get (thumbs u

Elbesaar- I bought the coin from mreureka at a Baltimore show 3-4 years ago. A real good value too........ being a key date, add a degree of difficulty for being an error then throw in the fact that it is a proof and under greysheet bid to boot! I don't collect errors and I went to Andys table looking for patterns but I couldn't pass this one up.

I've posted this before but this coin has a lot going for it being a key date as well as a proof error.

I wish I knew more about the set. I bought it a couple of years ago just as you see it here. I think it is obvious from the state of preservation that the set was maintained by a collector and passed on to future generations of serious collectors. Hard to imagine that it survived all these years without someone polishing the "tarnish" off at the same time they were cleaning the silver tea service?
Here is the complete c/n/s set.......... Sorry no gold (very sorry! )

Here is the rest of the set. I do believe these have been together for a few years.

Great Fugio Fletcher (thumbs u I see Brandon just keeps getting better with his imaging (didn't think that was possible) Your building a great set of Fugio varieties which is a very very difficult undertaking.
IMO "token" isn't the appropriate term for these as they were the first coins authorized by the Continental Congress. The design was attributed to Franklin and "borrowed" from the fractional currency issues of 1776.

Unfortunately I think the coin album that created this fantastic toning is also responsible for the slide mark that keeps it from a Gem grade? Still a coin that I couldn't seem to pass up.

I picked this dime up at the ANA. From the Ed Price collection and the latest addition to my toned type set.

Type 2 trime for the type set

I picked this half cent up a few weeks ago at the Baltimore show. The first half cent for my type set.

Here is another recent addition to the type set. Bust quarters have become very hard to find these days?

Tom- This isn't the set that Joe had several months ago. That set was much nicer, unquestionably original and sold when I called about it. While these coins are all very nice and attractive for the assigned grades, I am not convinced they have been together since they left the mint.
The toning pattern on the half dime, dime and the obverse of the quarter are nearly a perfect match while the half and dollar are similar but noticeably different. I think it is interesting that the quarter is mostly untoned on the reverse as are the half and dollar? I am not sure how they could have been stored to acquire this type of toning??

The mintage is estimated at 100 but with a combined total of 32 graded between PCGS and NGC, the mintage is probably closer to 50.
