...i think that u partially misunderstand the CAC implications...not all coins, in fact many coins, with CAC stickers r not submitted for upgrades...the presence of the sticker suffices n the implication is understood, having the coin in an upgraded holder isnt required to monetarily benefit from the sticker...some may not understand fully but in some instances i have purchased certified coins in grades ms64 n ms65 non-stickered n broken the coins out n resubmitted to the other tpg in hopes of getting the coins graded one grade lower n then submitted to CAC if i thought the coin warranted a sticker, the monetary advantage outweighs the costs involved...the same can be true on crossing over coins n specifying acceptance of a one grade reduction in grade...of course this is only profitable if the value of the coin is high enuf to start with....

...there is no guarantee the diff graders will agree on the previous grade but if they dont u can annotate the submission n keep the coin in its original submitted holder n the coin is returned to u as submitted n not removed....

...there r many influences on this current trend...dealers incentives, customers preferences, perceptions on graders, lag times, premiums on sales, registry sets on n on...but there is one factor we do not have access to that mite indicate the real story...crossovers, which way is this tide moving??....

...dont need a trade org...just yardstick it by the prices realized on the withs n the withouts...i already know where the bucks r going to migrate to....

...totally meaningless...two dealers, collectors, investors whomever having nearly identical coins can/will determine their own FMV on every coin they own and/or wish to sell...the only determinate is the actual transaction price for each coin, that is the FMV for that coin at that time...every buyer/seller decides FMV on every coin they buy/sell for every transaction...the two prices u quote in ur example r both realistic...u should try to get out more often in the real world of coin transactions instead of trying to make the real world fit what u think it should be....

...i agree with ur general suggestion but think a higher denomination than the nickel, i actually prefer on a currency note, but the factions in congress will never agree...maybe one day get some kind of concensus on say the $20 note n have 3-4-5 diff notes with diff persons??...the current nickel as well as cents r pretty poor, if they cant come up with something better in next couple years perhaps just re-issue past designs in a series like the national parks or if totally impotent they could go back n adopt one of the pattern designs that wasnt approved, many of those way better than the current designs....
