Ok so I picked up 3 new coins from e-Bay I went to add them to my list and could not because the other
owner has them still under there name is there any way that I can get them added I can not find the paperwork
for the 3 coins they are NGC slabs Thanks
Hello, and thank you for the inquiry. We ask collectors to have coins in their possession before entering in the NGC Registry. Below is our Transfer policy.
- There is typically a 3-day wait time for transfers to be processed. An automated email is sent to the previous owner to approve the transfer. If the previous owner approves, or if no response is received after 3 days, the coin is automatically transferred to you.
- In rare cases when the previous owner disputes the transfer, an NGC Registry representative will conduct an investigation and contact both you and the previous owner.
- Many sellers use stock photos to represent the coins that they are selling. In this case, the certification number of the coin that you receive may not match the coin shown. Please wait until you have a coin in hand before entering it into the NGC Registry.

Hello @alexbq2,
The set which your coin is listed is a Type Set where multiple coins may be eligible in a slot. Some coins listed in a slot may be competitive, whereas others may not and we would not list the entire slot as Non-Competitive. This is true across all competitive registry type sets. Your coin is Non-competitive in the slot and receives 1 point due to rarity and price to obtain the coin.
@Revenant Thank you for your assistance in explaining the reasoning. We appreciate your support!

I added a coin to a set - 2860419-002, and it received 1 single point. It's a pretty valuable coin in XF-45. Per NGC 5 are graded and this one is in the middle of the pack. Why 1 point?
Hello,
You coin has been listed as Non-competitive; for display only.
There are many factors involved when making the decision to mark a coin as non-competitive in an NGC Competitive Registry Set. These factors may include low mintage, difficulty in obtaining/purchasing the coin, and an unusually high price in relation to the other coins required to fill the set. These factors are considered when our senior numismatic team makes the decision, which is done on a coin-by-coin basis.
We aim to make 100% completion of any registry set attainable for our average collector. If a coin you own is marked as non-competitive, we do offer Custom NGC Registry sets as an option to display all your coins in the manner you desire. If you are interested in an NGC Custom Registry Set, please let us know, and we are happy to assist you. Thank you.

Hi. I own these two coins. One is an MS65 and the other an MS66. It shows my MS65 as TOP grade and doesn't accept my MS 66 as top. Not sure how to correct this? Clearly they are the same coin and the MS 66 is the TOP

I created four Registry Sets. However, some of my CAC coins reflect the Green Bean, but others don't. It appears to be random (even with coins that were CAC approved on the same date). What should I do?

Thank you for the inquiry. We ask collectors to have coins in their possession before entering in the NGC Registry. Once you have the coins in hand you may add the first two listed to the appropriate registry sets. Certification number 5779679-005 is not eligible for the existing registry set as it is an off metal strike. If you need further assistance, please email registry@ngccoin.com.

Hello,
Thank you for the inquiry. this coin is more suitable for a Custom Registry set. If we grade more of these types of coins, we would reconsider creating a competitive set.

Please create a separate registry set for
1902/1 STRAITS SETTLEMENTS 10C MS Thank you
Hello,
This coin is eligible in the Straits Settlements 10 Cents, 1871-1927, Circulation Issue set. You may add this coin to the 1902 dated slot. With only two coins graded as 1902/1, we would not add a separate slot and make it a requirement for the set. Our goal is to make 100% completion of a set attainable for every collector. Thank you.

Trying to add a coin that I bought from Ampex --NGC program say's it is registered to another--what should I do? The coin has been inventoried to my list? What does that mean? I still cannot include in my set or coins. It has been almost a week since I brought the issue up to NGC--Ampex say's it is NGC that needs to address the issue.
Hello,
Please provide the certification number. You may send it to registry@ngccoin.com if you would rather not publish it here. Thank you.

I there a link on the NGC home page, or elsewhere on the site, to collectors-society.com, or to the collection manager? I was looking for one yesterday, and did not see it. Obviously, I can type the address in myself, but I was just trying to save a little time.
Hi Just Bob,
If you click on NGC Registry from the Resources tab, and then select Browse Custom Sets, this will take you to the Collectors-Society site. You may also create a bookmark on your browser. Thank you.

It appears that the number pulled up the correct description of the medal, but I'm unclear why it is not correctly importing to my inventory. Is there something I'm doing wrong?Hello,
This coin has been added to your Collection Manager and may be added to a Custom Registry set. Thank you.

Hello Maribeth, Thank you for responding to each of my posts! Thank you for talking with Kevin, the NGC Price Analyst, about adding Type B & C Washington Quarters to the NGC Price Guide, maybe as soon as September, 2021.
With regard to the secret NGC scoring algorithm proprietary only to NGC, not available to owners of the coins or to members of a NGC Set Registry, is someone joking? Can you imagine ANY company inviting its customers to compete without making the rules AVAILABLE to all who accept the invitation? Please ask the appropriate person(s) if they think such a concept is outdated, unreasonable, and, quite frankly, a bit on the ridiculous side? What reason could possibly justify concealing the rules of competition from the invited competitors?
When the rules are transparent and available to ≥≤≥≥all who choose to compete, then it becomes far easier for anyone to understand NGC judgements.436786767iouuooi.//≥ Of course it would make it clearer for Set Registry members about whether or not to question decisions about set registry point.
Bill,
The rules for the NGC Registry are available on NGCCoin.com and there is information on the Registry FAQ's page on how scores are calculated using a carefully designed algorithm. You may find this information by using this link: https://www.ngccoin.com/about/help-center-faqs/ngc-registry/ngc-registry-faqs/.
Once the Type B & C Washington Quarters are added to the Price Guide, the Registry team will add these coins to our list of scores to review.
Thank you.

Hello Maribeth, Thank you for your response. Please show me the algorithm NGC uses to determine Set Registry points for coins in my NGC set. Also, please guide me to the source that NGC uses to determine "rarity" of Type B & C Washington Quarters. Upon seeing the weights given to subjective factors, such as eye appeal, that could help me understand NGC's registry points better. Thank you for your assistance.
Bill,
The NGC scoring algorithm is proprietary and cannot be disclosed. A response has been sent to the email we have on file. Thank you.

Hello Washington Quarter variety Type B & C collectors:
It seems that NGC has the Set Registry Points assigned to various high grade coins in this special area far askew from reality. Granted that NGC "rarity" seems to include coins graded by NGC, PCGS, and no telling which others different than NGC. Nonetheless, the company lists a population of "1" for a 1958 NGC Type B MS67 Washington Quarter with none higher. Yet, its Set Registry point system allows the base grade of MS67 a mere 450 points? Yes, PCGS list a pop. of 1 at MS67 and a pop. of 1 at 67+ with none higher. Yet the company assigns base grade MS67+ 1713 points.
At the same time NGC award a 1959 Type B MS67 Washington Quarter 3,386 points. In its description of set registry points NGC cites "rarity" and a Mysterious "algorithm" as factors. However, NGC does not make those factors clear to collectors for coins they own on NGC's Set Registry. Hopefully, someone will direct me toward clarity on this issue.
Many thanks,
Hello Bill,
We appreciate your enthusiasm for these coins. As we have mentioned before, population is only one of many factors in the scoring algorithm. We sent our score description to your email address on April 13th. Thank you.

Hello...I just added my 1882 cc Vam 2C4 MS 66+ to my registry set. (GSA Hard Pack Holders Complete Set, Morgan Dollars 1878-1904 Including varieties.) The point values for the 1882 cc Vam 2 are all over the place. I believe the Vam 2C4 should be the same points as the Vam 2C3. If I were to purchase an 1882 cc without the Vam the points today would be higher than my Vam 2C4. Could you take a look at these areas? Thank you.
Joyce Novitzke
Hello Joyce,
