1594 3 Groshen.MS65. MJ
Absolutely gorgeous! It makes me want to start a set of Groshens.

Not a rare coin but I like it. Nice addition to my small but growing Franklin collection.
The toning on the obverse reminds me of a Jackson Pollock painting.
1958 MS66
Your Franklin has nice sharp bell lines except on the bottom bands left of the bell. Nice strike!

Latest addition to my Civil War custom set of tokens and commems. Not a big fan of the obverse (where are Mr. Lincoln's shoulders?) but love the reverse. In MS70:
I like the coin, but that is the ugliest bust of Lincoln I have ever seen (even given that Lincoln wasn't attractive).

I received this monster from Buffalo Head! I love it!
Nice toning!

When I saw this piece, I had to purchase it. Thanks again Stefanie (a/k/a coinsarefun) for negotiating and conducting business with me!

Nice Physics
. Are you going to make a signature set of stripies ?
Here are a couple that I got from Heritage.
The 23 is a new die state for me and is an O-108a R3
The 33 I haven't done the overton on but the coin surfaces are just super smooth and look forward to cracking it out to put in the dansco
Nice Bust coins Martin! I like the 1823 and it compares favorably to a coin that I currently have in an NGC EF40 holder (slight differences only)!

Very pleased to add this upgrade to my set. Its a 65FBL, purchased for quite a bargain price. You will also note, its a stripy coin
Very nice. The only surprise to me is that it isn't PL; I didn't know that you were buying non-PL material.

Thanks for the kind words on my 57 Jeff.
Good Luck ModCrewman on the grading experience. Looks like a super group!
Nice 10C Elbessar (thumbs u
This one arrived the same day as the 57 Jeff:
Sure would have been nice of NGC to have combined shipping to save me a few bucks.
This is one of the most beautiful designs on a modern commemorative that I have seen in some time. What a beauty! Nice pick-up.

Be careful buying these type slabs Alan. I think this was a slap together grading company in the 80's that usually over-graded coins or were problematic.
Bobby, you're think of INS which which admitted that its standards were a point or so off from NGC/PCGS. INGS appears to be a modern self slabbing operation.
Regardless, congratulations on the nice coin Alan.

Thanks guys. I like type 1 best also Jeff. I just have to pay a little more for those early double eagles.
Nice coins (thumbs u Mark always has nice stuff and the CC Morgan dollars are cool...
I agree, I have one of the same date, 1852 in AU-53, bought it around 2003 and thought I paid too much for what today is about half the melt value!
I would have thought that was a good deal even then. I have a soft spot for antebellum gold coins. I can still recall the joy when I purchased my first (a New Orleans quarter eagle from the early 1850s in AU53).

I am a little confused but I already received my FUN Sale purchases in the mail. I haven't even paid the bill yet. Anyway, two more monster Jefferson Nickels for the registry set.
The 1940s FS is absolutely breath taking as is the 1950-D; however, I do have a question concerning the latter. I thought NGC and PCGS would not designate coins as FS when there was a tick across the steps that interrupted them. This coin seems to have six full steps, absent the two that contain a tick above the "c" in Monticello. Is this common place or am I wrong? Regardless, it is a beautiful coin.

The 1917-S REV Half is in a PCGS AU 58 holder.
I can see where you might have guessed AU 55,
as there is rub; most noticably on the Eagle's lead leg.
The image doesn't show the luster correctly - and there
is minimal rub, really. There's only a minor luster break.
Nowhere near AU 50 - there is way too much luster and
detail to be considered an AU 50. The "hand and thumb"
detail is too great to be on an AU 50; usually, at that grade
level, the "hand and thumb" detail has worn off [ if there was
any to begin with.]
Thanks for the help Elbesaar! I'm learning the series, slowly but surely.

The lone Wheat Cent found in the jar was a 52-D. I pick this up for the story.
Now that I think about it, this would have been the perfect winning prize.
OP
I'm surprised that the coin survived at the MS65 level given the heavy clad coins that you had scrapping along it. It is a nice coin. Was your grandmother a collector by chance? It's hard to imagine that she would gem uncirculated coins if she didn't have any interest; does she have anything else?
Nice Lincoln there OP. Nice Half Jeff. Is that in a EF45-AU50 PCGS slab? It's very solid for the grade. It's beautiful and I like the surfaces, especially for a lightly circulated coin; great eye appeal.
Edited: You answered my original question while I was posting it.
Just picked this 1917-S REV Walker for my Dad's birthyear set:
Elbessar, I'm trying to practice and sharpen my grading skills in this area. Do you mind if I ask you the grade? I'm going to guess that it is a solid AU55 with good eye appeal.
Beautiful coins everyone!

The Roosies were from him. The PL Morgan Dollar was from someone else.

P.S. Since you can't run two version of Internet Explorer on one PC, there is a still a good workaround if you don't want to upgrade from IE7.
Download Firefox browser: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
That way you can have a browser that is super speedy with Collectors Society and keep IE7 for other sites. Just a thought.
I've tried Apple's Safari for Windows - it appears to run Javascript faster than even Firefox. I like to use both of them. I haven't tried it with Chrome, but it seems like a viable option as well.

I like it even with the spotting. It looks like I have been bitten by the "toning bug."
