  1. At first glance I thought at least it's worth silver value. Apparently it's more valuable then melt.

but even after conservation you may not get a MS70. Maybe an MS69 quite a price difference.

I'm sure NCS can do something about it I just don't think it would be worth it unless you get that MS70.

  2. Interesting, I learned something today.

"Light hairlines. Observers (particularly those online) should not confuse the mint-caused, long die-flaw on the heavy reverse rim with a scratch, which it is not. Peck mentions this flaw, and it distinguishes this variety from all others"

I'm sure NGC would fix the problem if you let them know. not sure if this is the correct page but it looks like NGC could use a photograph of that one.

  3. The better references I use for pricing is to go to the NGC references. Fairly good reference for past auctions but doesn't include eBay prices.

    Supply and Demand.

An ounce of silver goes for about $15. So if silver ever goes up to $50 an ounce... I doubt it...

Suggest only buying PCGS or NGC slabbed, NGC graded guarantees that they're genuine and quality of the coin.

    Here's a ebay selling a complete set of ms69 for $1325.

    $1325/34 coins = $38/coin

Suggest if you don't want to buy the complete set make sure you buy the coins below $38 each (+shipping) and then try to get that final hard to get ones later.

    Good luck.

  4. I bought some of my coins from my dad that he bought from the US Mint about 30 years ago I decided to go ahead and grade them anyway, some of them came back as proof 68. it's probably a good idea if you buy any mint coins get them graded as soon as you can. Having them just sit in the u.s. mint box may not be all that good for them. Not sure how these proof coins hold up in NGC holders. Get your us mint coins graded at the peak when they were issued from the mint.

  5. I only buy NGC and PCGS coins graded.  buying an ungraded coin there could be a problem with it, cleaned damaged or maybe even not genuine. I don't trust other grading services and some of them are confusing like NCG.  That's N.C.G.

If you need the coin, go ahead and buy it but I wouldn't trust the grading and have it graded by NGC. That's N.G.C.
