Just Bob reacted to JKK in 1944 no mint copper
About $0.02. Its best use is to give to a young person today, in honor of VE Day's 75th anniversary, and point out that this penny was probably made partly out of shell-casing brass from the war.

Just Bob got a reaction from Mike Meenderink in can a 1943 steel cent weigh 3.1 gr and stick to a magnet
Many of these were re-plated with zinc to make them more appealing to buyers. This may account for at least some of the additional weight.
The tolerance for these is +/- .13 grams.
The planchets produced in 1942 weighed 2.689 grams (41.5 grains), and the ones minted later in 1943 weighed 2.754 grams (42.5 grains).

Just Bob got a reaction from Greenland in None
The composition is 95% copper, 5% zinc, which is, technically, the composition of brass. The composition of bronze is copper/tin, although either alloy may contain traces of other metals. In 1962 the composition of the cent was set by congress at the 95/5 copper/zinc ratio. That remained until the coated zinc cents began production in 1982.

I don't think it is -005. It looks farther from the "9," and the shape isn't exactly a match.
I'm not 100% convinced yours is an RPM.

There are modern coins that have received the "prooflike" designation:
(not my coin)

Just Bob got a reaction from KarenHolcomb in 5 Piece Silver Half Dollar Set
Yes, the proofs are graded the same as MS coins. If you click the links above, you will see the grades at the top of each column of prices.
And, as for my opinion of the set: Although the coins may not be extremely valuable, they certainly are collectible. I personally like it. In fact, it has given me an idea for a set. Substitute a reverse proof Kennedy for the Franklin, and maybe add one of the 2014 High Relief examples, and that would make a nice display. I wonder if Capital Plastics makes a holder that would work...

Just Bob got a reaction from GBrad in Please confirm if this is a Doubled Die
That looks like a type of die deterioration doubling common to plated coins, such as the zinc plated steel cents, and copper plated zinc cents.
