What set of coins should I really purchase???

Friends,

I get the questions tossed at me once in a while. --- What are your choices?? --- What do you think of future whatever??? --- Where do you really think the value of this will sit in 5 years???

For me as a collector = Of so many different type of circulated coins to me my sets are irreplaceable proof of history past. The coins of yesterday that I show my friends and their eyes enlarge as they actually try to imagine that the coins are ---US coins. You would be surprised at the amount of people that have never held a 1/2c, 2c or 5c shield. And then sit a set of 10c,25c,and 50c seated coins in front of them. For me now my LUSTS for coinage is the pre 1900 eras.

But there are collectors of different types and different eras of which are the likes of the questions that I receive. I have done a few studies and tried different ways to come to a good conclusion on the perfect set of coins to collect and there are a couple ways (as always) to find the answer.

Any set you collect be it proof, circulated, world, bullion, or what I may have missed my best answer as a collector is as long as you really enjoy the set---- It is a set for you to collect!!!

There are others that strive for the value of tomorrow and ask me if they paid toooo much. For this one there really is no correct answer. The value of any collection is---public opinion and we know, that changes as easy as day light savings on a clock today. If you have a little time to invest in your coins then you have enough time to grab a few different pieces and try your REAL VALUE out. Before someone I know really gets too involved in a financial expense on a set of coins they are looking for a investment on I tell them; #1 - check the previous bids on the coins you are looking at, #2 take a few coins that you have purchased and try to sell them to a dealer at a store or at a coin show. Of course the value offered will be a bit lower than value---but a dealer will pick the choice coins and show or tell you the right direction you are looking for. #3 Just collect them because you realy want them--- I enjoy every time I view my coin sets and escape from today and go back to yesteryear.

HAPPY COIN COLLECTING
