Final Piece to the Collection
Is it worth it?
Well, I got to my mailbox today with eager anticipation of an arrival that would complete my first Registry Set. I was so excited to get that final coin. The coin that I knew I was paying too much for. But I needed that final piece of plastic slabbed silver to put the final touch on my first collection.
I opened the package carefully and there it was. I booted up the computer and went to the Collectors' Society web site. My heart was racing. "This is it." I said to myself.
Slowly I looked at the slab number and carefully entered it into the computer. Pressing save, I held my breath.
A few moments later, I was someone. Someone that completed a Registry Set. I was laughing like a mad man. Feeling powerful, I knew that I had finally made it in life. . .
Then sanity sunk in when I realized I just spent $200.00 on a Silver Dollar that was worth approximately $13.00. No wonder I was laughing like a mad man. I must be mad to pay that much. I am really mad now to think that there must be a reason these coins are overpriced. It is not just supply and demand, but something else.
When I figure it out, I will let you all know.
God Bless America!
