Don't put all your coins in one roll!!

I don't mean to be argumentative, but the 2006 20th anniversary set (SILVER)took almost 2 months to sell out not one day. If I remember correctly, those sets sold for about $4,500 for a NGC PF/MS70 set when first available. You can get that same set today for about $1,500. In my opinion 900 coins per state is quite few. From my perspective I would rather have gold or platinum for the money. I like low mintages and low populations, and high intrinsic value. I just purchased a PF70UC Early release set of the 2008 platinum eagles. I think the early release designation of these coins will be less than 50 overall, especially in light that the mint has suspended sales on the four piece set due to the price of platinum and NGC's early release clock is ticking. With my purchase of the 4 coin set at $450.00 over melt seemed like a no brainer - I believe the price will likely rise on these coins when the final mintage is know and people realize the limited number in the early release designation. Many may think me more of an investor than a collector, but have done well as I have been able to fund most of my coins using this strategy. My best advise buy the unpopular coins when you can and don't chase older issues that have already appreciated. Happy collecting or investing - depending on how you look at this hobby!
