The first of what will likely be many submissions of 2006 coins has just arrived at NGC.

Even though I was planing on starting a 2007 Birthyear set this year ( she wasn't due till the end of the month after all) The fact that my grandaughter was born a year (sort of) early makes me glad that I ordered a few of the 2006 20th Anniversary Silver sets. Lucky Me, as these sets have already doubled in price.

I have sent in a few of each to be graded, along with a few SMS coins from mint sets that I also ordered earlier in the year. I suppose I will be waiting to see what grades I get and deceide where to go from there. Of course that won't stop me from buying any gems I happen to see at the coin show this weekend.

I plan to meet a long time friend who has started to take an interest in coins after seeing some of my collection. The funny thing is, it was his purchase of some gold coins for investment reasons that got me started on all this in the first place.

In any event he and I will be going to the show togther, he to pick up some coin holders for a bunch of nice 19th century coins he picked up from an aquaintence at work. Some surprisingly nice AU/XF coins in the bunch. Considering that he paid about $250 for the bunch I would say he got quite a bargin. His latest interest is the silver proof statehood quarters. Mmmmm

Oh well, I have $100 to spend (a birthday gift from my wife, I spent all my coin cash on coindawgs coins and won't have any play money till APRIL!) and all day sunday to spend it... I will report my finds and hopefully grades later in another post.
