I picked up a roll of 1954-D cents. Still in original bank roll
I was surprised to find that the roll had not been tampered with at all!. In it were all of the coins that I was expecting, and more. 9 1954 D/D/D cents. all in good shape and crying to get a grade. 35.00 spent. way more on the grading part. But the returns? priceless.. I sure am glad that I grade pocket change!

Just picked up a roll of 1948-D Lincolns
This should prove interesting for me. I have a few coins to send in to be graded. A few 1956 D/D cents, a 1911 rd cent, and now I have to go through this roll of '48-D's. IF things go well, I should have a few more MS-67's to add to the collection. IF not? well let's just say that I am going to have some coins for sale to fund the acquisition of some more coins. I also have that 1955 Cameo Proof set to send in. I just may go broke doing this!

Finding that most elusive coin.
Since I have joined NGC, I have been concentrating on completing a high end Lincoln set.
So, I have been purchasing rolls of cents to have graded. All uncs of course! Some, yes the price will choke a horse!
But I have been doing okay with them.
My best so far was a roll of 1943 cents UNCS. 80.00 but managed a MS-67 and a MS-66. I also sold one for 15.00 and the guy was happy.
He bought it through the chat boards. Real nice guy. It could have been 10.00
Getting started
I started coin collecting in 1961. I was Three.
I would save every shiny penny,nickel, dime, quarter and half that I could lay my hands on that was mine of course. I saved my allowance, and put the different years away. over the years my franklins were stolen by the Avon ladies kid. Most of the shiny pennies now have turned. Album toning! My '52-D Franklin is done in by this, I am sure I will get a (Cleaned designation)
