Attribution of John Adams Matte edge

Posted in a news story at NGCcoin.com in June about the John Adams dollar errors there was mention of a "Laser Matte Edge" finish found on some of the dollars. I am wondering what the status is on the attribution of this error or variety ? Thanks for Your time,
