Trimes

5 posts in this topic

There was a recent post about rising prices for later date three cent nickels on this board. That post made me curious about Type 3 Trimes. I have a MS64, 1863 Trime. Seaching price trends on this coin is confusing. Prices seem to be all over the map currently. Is this series experiencing a price move also?

trimes are moving but again only the good stuff

any civil war dated trimes are hot hot circ to ms to proofs and of course the rarer more scarcer to acquire coins are the best of the best

civil war era adds to the history and interest

now the 1868 this is an extremely hotly contested coin in bus strike grades

name your price for a choice mintstate coin and more than likely it will sell.........................

It it good to hear that some small coins are getting some attention. Too often if the U.S. series (and probably the world coins as well) "the bigger the better" seems to be the motto.

As for the trimes after 1862 in Mint State, I've bought and sold a couple through the business. While those coins certainly were of interest to me, sadly I can't collect everything. (shrug)

Neither can I, Bill. Certainly not now that I am retired. I tried to assemble a set of uncirculated Trimes several years ago. The Type three coins stopped me in my tracks. I could not find them dated after 1863.
