Silver crown with dark toning

2 posts in this topic

Will NCS remove "dark unattractive" toning from a 1937 Australia Crown ? NGC said it would downgrade the coin from 64 frown.gif

I believe the coin would grade HIGHER if it had a nicer appearance, as it is virtually untouched by other coins, very rare for this type with the large fields and heavy coins, and the mintage method

Without seeing the coin in question I would not be able to say for certain what might or might not be done to help it out through conservation.

There is a chance your coin can be made white. Very darkly toned coins are more likely to have their toning lightened but color will remain to leave a natural and more attractive coin.
