2001-D Sac question

4 posts in this topic

Why is there such a difference in point values for the 2001 D Sac. In the Sacagawea set it is worth 551 in MS67.

However in the Silver & Clad Dollar type set it is only worth 59.

It's probably because most people don't like the Sacs and so they don't collect them. The Sacs also have pretty low mintage since 2002.

A few years ago, 2001-D was one of the hardest dates to find in MS67 or higher condition, and this was reflected in the census. More examples have since surfaced, and it may be time for a downward score adjustment.

I concur it is time for it to be adjusted but the Type set figure I am sure is wrong.

I get 800 points for my 68 version which is one of two which should be scaled up -

The 67 should be scaled down and the Type set figure repaired as the two coins should be the same.

Did you do a Check Score email with the button ???

If not I will to have my 68 looked at
