John Adams smooth edge dollars confirmed!

ANACS June 8 certified as genuine five 2007 John Adams dollars struck at the Philadelphia Mint without edge lettering. They are believed to be the first Plain Edge Adams dollar errors to be authenticated by a major grading service.

I doubt that any of those certified were purchased on e-bay

Don't count on it. There were genuine plain edge pieces showing up on eBay just a few days after the Adams coins were released. (And fake ones as well.)
