Metal composition

2 posts in this topic

There is a Lincoln cent on Ebay right now that is in holder #5082211-001. It is a cent that was minted on a planchet which is composed of 63% copper, 32% zinc, 4% aluminum, and 1% tin per your insert. Do you guys have the equipment to do the testing on something like this? If someone had a coin they wanted the composition checked, would you be the ones to send it to?

Thanks for your time. Becky

We do have a source that can do non-destructive metallic content testing on coins. This coin you describe was given this treatment.

We can have a coin tested for metal content prior to encapsulation. There is an extra charge for this service.
