Lincoln assistance

I have a 1920 Lincoln cent that has some serious deterioration(I assume that is what it is). I cannot fathom what has caused this, its like the layers are splitting apart. Any ideas? 1920lincolncomposite.jpg

Pretty neat, I've never seen that this before!
The 60D is Really cool...The copper looks like it's ready to drop off..Worth ALL of the $5.00 I paid for it. thumbsup2.gif

Those are some wild laminations! For $5, I would certainly buy a few severe ones like that. I am looking for a couple of nice ones on Franklin halves, but they don't seem to be nearly as common as Lincolns.
