Picked up a new MS69 Britannia for my collection (4 to go now) - big pics

7 posts in this topic

In my ongoing search for MS69 britannias, I came across a 2002 PCGS MS69 (my 99, 01, 04, and 05 are NGC) though I'm rather of the opinion that this one is just barely a 69 on a good day due to a small spot on the obverse. Otherwise, the coin is a beauty, and fits in well with the rest of my MS69 collection (shown below).

Now I only need a 2000, 2003, 2006, and 2007 in NGC/PCGS MS69. If you know of any for sale, please let me know!

Nice Coins Russ,

How do you photograph those proofs just out of curiosity.

Trozau - A very nice one as well.

Common, raw coins go for around $25 each. I sold an 8 coin set, minus a 2003 for around $200. The thing that makes assembling this set in high grade difficult is that (a) there aren't a lot of graded coins for sale, (b) there aren't a lot of these coins at shows - at least ones I've been to, and © most photos of coins for sale on eBay are poor or don't properly show the areas that get abrasions and spotting.

Here's my 2003, but it's just a raw one - MS67, I'd say, due to a somewhat weak strike on the queen's cheek (not visible in photo).
